Student Leadership students are hosting a Book Drive through Saturday. Students delivered flyers in the community last weekend and plan to collect books in Troy neighborhoods this weekend. Books in good condition may also be dropped off at Troy College & Career High School and will be given to K-12 schools in Pontiac.
Student Leadership members are also beginning to form a partnership with Oakmont Sterling and Oakmont Manor senior communities as they plan to meet with residents in early November to discuss future collaborative project and program ideas.
Women of Tomorrow will meet next week when they will create and present vision boards depicting plans for their present and future. The goal of the Women of Tomorrow program is to motivate and empower young women by pairing them with highly-successful mentors.
Graduate students of Dr. Julie Lesnik, author and assistant professor of anthropology at Wayne State University, spoke to Environmental Science students earlier in the month about “Insects as Food” and environmental sustainability.
Our first Parent-Teacher Conference evening two weeks ago was very successful and well attended.
TCCHS students, assisted by parents, will be handing out Halloween treats to students from three of the district child care programs during Trunk or Treat on Thursday, October 25 at 6 p.m. The event will take place in the parking lot on the east side of the Niles Center building.
