Both new and returning students were warmly welcomed to Troy College & Career High School with a first day of team-building activities that involved students interacting with one another in dynamic, continually-changing groups. The engaging collaboration set the stage for one of our World Class focus areas of attending to the social well being of all our students!
Fifteen of our current Dual enrollment students are in their fourth week of college classes at Oakland Community College. Class loads vary from one to four college classes per student while each is also completing high school graduation requirements.
Environmental Science students will be learning about recycling in Oakland County when the project coordinator from Iris Waste Diversion Specialists visits in a couple of weeks.
Genetics students are currently incubating seven chicken eggs that are expected to hatch by the end of the month as they study conditions and factors for a successful hatch rate.
Members of Student Leadership are beginning plans for a Book Drive in October to benefit students in need in another metro-Detroit school district that is soon to be determined.
Some 25 enthusiastic parents kicked off this year’s monthly meeting. One of their first activities is organizing a Trick or Trunk event in our parking lot next month.
